Chapter 13
13And—he—stood—on—the—sand—of—the—sea.—And—I—saw—a—beast—ascend—out—of—the—sea,—having—ten—horns—and—seven—heads,—and—on—his—horns—ten—diadems,—and—on—his—heads—names]—of—blasphemy.—
2And—the—beast—that—I—saw—was—like—a—leopard,—and—his—feet—were—as—a—bear's,—and—his—mouth—as—the—mouth—of—a—lion.—And—the—dragon—gave—him—his—might,—and—his—throne,—and—great—power.—
3And—one—of—his—heads—as—if—slain—to—death,—and—the—plague—of—his—death—was—healed.—And—the—whole—earth—wondered—afterᵒ—the—beast.—
4And—they—worshipped—the—dragon,—because—he—gave—the—power—unto—the—beast,—and—they—worshipped—the—beast,—saying,—Who—is—like—the—beast,—and—who—is—able—to—war—with—him?—
5And—there—was—given—unto—him—a—mouth—speaking—great—things—and—blasphemies,—and—there—was—given—unto—him—power—to—act—forty—[and]—two—months.—
6And—he—opened—his—mouth—in—blasphemies—against—God,—to—blaspheme—his—name,—and—his—tabernacle,—those—who—tabernacle—in—heaven.—
7[And—it—was—given—unto—him—to—make—war—with—the—saintsⁱ—and—to—overcome—them,]—and—there—was—given—unto—him—power—over—every—tribe,—and—people,—and—tongue,—and—nation.—
8And—all—who—dwell—on—the—earth—shall—worship—him,—whose—name—is—not—written—in—the—scroll—of—life—of—the—Lamb—slain—from—the—foundation—of—the—world.—
9If—any—man—has—an—ear,—let—him—hear.—
10If—any—man—is—for—captivity,—into—captivity—he—goes:—if—any—man—is—to—be—killed—with—the—short-sword,—with—the—short-sword—he—is—to—be—killed.—Here—is—the—patience—and—the—faith—of—the—saintsⁱ.—
11And—I—saw—another—beast—ascend—out—of—the—earth,—and—he—had—two—horns—like—a—lamb,—and—he—spoke—as—a—dragon.—
12And—he—does—all—the—power—of—the—first—beast—before—him—and—causes—the—earth—and—them—who—dwell—therein—to—worship—the—first—beast,—whose—plague—of—death—was—healed.—
13And—he—does—great—signs,—so—that—he—even—makes—fire—come—down—out—of—heaven—to—the—earth—before—the—men,—
14and—deceives—those—who—dwell—on—the—earth—because—of—the—signs—which—it—was—given—him—to—do—before—the—beast,—saying—to—those—who—dwell—on—the—earth,—that—they—should—make—an—image—unto—the—beast—who—has—the—plague—of—the—short-sword,—and—did—live.—
15And—it—was—given—him—to—give—spirit—unto—the—image—of—the—beast,—that—the—image—of—the—beast—should—both—speak—and—cause—[that]—as—many—as—would—not—worship—the—image—of—the—beast—should—be—killed.—
16And—he—causes—all,—the—small—and—the—great,—and—the—rich—and—the—poor,—and—the—free—and—the—bond-servants,—that—they—should—give—them—a—mark—on—their—right—hand,—or—on—their—forehead,—
17and—that—none—should—be—able—to—buy—or—sell,—saving—he—who—has—the—mark,—the—name—of—the—beast—or—the—number—of—his—name.—
18Here—is—the—wisdom.—Let—him—who—has—mind—calculate—the—number—of—the—beast,—for—it—is—the—number—of—a—man,—and—his—number—is—six—hundred—[sixty/ten]—six.—
